Donald Trump may have broken the law when he failed to mention in his campaign’s financial disclosures that he paid hush money to a porn star with whom he had an affair. Remember a time when politics wasn’t about this?!
Anyway, there’s so much more:
Stormy Daniels, the porn star in question, filed a lawsuit against Trump alleging that the non-disclosure agreement she signed is void because it was not signed by Trump himself. This is after Trump’s lawyer, Michael Cohen, initiated a legal proceeding against Daniels a few weeks ago to keep her quiet, without telling her.
What’s in the non-disclosure agreement, you ask? All kinds of good stuff:
• Trump and Daniels went by the pseudonyms David Dennison and Peggy Peterson
• A requirement that Daniels turn over any video, images, email, and text messages between her and Trump (all good without seeing those, thank you!)
• A statement that admits the following: “substantial effort and expense have been dedicated to limit the efforts of the press...and the public to learn of personal and business affairs involving [Donald Trump].” Quite an admission about what the Trump campaign was up to in 2016! Cool operation.
White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders indicated that as far as she knows, Trump was not aware that Daniels was paid by Cohen, and said “I can share that the arbitration was won in the President’s favor.” To which Daniels' lawyer responded, “yeah, and he also won the popular vote.” Lots of solid burns today.
