WELCOME TO THE INSOMNIAC ENTERTAINMENT NEWSLETTER

Dear Insomniacs, 2023 is in full motion and with that comes all of our spring festivals full of opportunities. In our monthly newsletters, we highlight upcoming events & castings to keep you up to date. Here, we will review the newly announced EDC Las Vegas performer auditions, Beyond SoCal casting & our upcoming Skyline LA casting. We look forward to making memories with all of you this season!

EDC LAS VEGAS WANTS YOU!

Spread the word & save the date — it’s time to make your dreams a reality!

Have you ever wanted to be on stage performing in front of a sea of captivated fans? Do you get goosebumps at the thought of performing through a festival crowd, bringing smiles and happiness to thousands of Headliners? Then circle this date in your calendar: Saturday, February 11th. That’s when Insomniac will be hosting our annual open auditions for our entertainment team. This audition will pertain to our entire 2023 roster such as EDC LV positions, but not limited to. Join us for a chance at performing at Insomniac’s biggest events in 2023!

Here’s what you need to know:

WHEN: Saturday, February 11th @ 12PM Sharp

WHERE: Exchange LA, located at 618 S. Spring Street, Los Angeles, CA 90014

WHO: All genders are welcome. Auditionees must be 18+.

APPLICATION: Please bring a non-returnable performance resume and a headshot along with a valid form of ID.

BRING: A refillable water canteen.

WHAT TO WEAR: Arrive in performance-ready hair and makeup. Fitted clothing such as crop tops and low-rise dance shorts are required to qualify as well as heels or boots.

SINGLE AUDITIONEES: No groups or teams admitted at this time. Single auditions only please.

STYLES: All dance styles are welcome.

Non dance focused performers are encouraged to audition. Please specify your background on your application.

CASTING FOR: Insomniac entertainment has a myriad of roles available at our events. From acting characters to dancers, puppeteers, mascots, Bboys, contortionists, stilters, acrobats & more, all are welcome here.

AUDITION ROUNDS: No rehearsed material or music needed. All auditionees will participate in a general freestyle round enabling judges to get a feel for personality, skill & aesthetic. A small group of selected participants will join a secondary round with choreography that will be taught onsite. You do not need to be selected for this round to qualify for a position.

SPECIALTIES: All specialties such as stilters, contortionists, acrobats, bboys, pointe & circus arts should join the general audition round & then advance to round 2 specialty round.

LIMITATIONS: Specialties such as fire dancers & aerialists should audition in the general round however, we do not have an aerial rig onsite or the ability to have live fire at this venue.

PROPS: Props such as hoops will be accepted in a final specialty round. No props will be admitted during the initial freestyle round.

SECONDARY SPECIALTY CASTINGS: Actors, Fire dancers, Mc’s, Magicians, Burlesque, Scare actors, Mermaids, Drag queens & more can show their specialty by applying virtually with a demo reel, portfolio & resume submission for consideration.

All performers are suggested to be seen in person regardless to increase their chances of securing an upcoming role.

STAFF CASTINGS: If you are a makeup artist, hair artist, wardrobe specialist, seamstress, costume designer, PA or interested in entertainment management please apply online by submitting your portfolio & resume to Mseasy@insomniac.com for consideration.

All positions, including main stage, will book out first and foremost from this audition.

Qualifying participants will be notified post-audition via email.

No further live auditions at other locations are set at this time.

Auditioning in person is recommended for all people interested in participating in Insomniac events. Virtual submissions will not have priority.

CASTING CALL: BEYOND WONDERLAND SOCAL

Celebrating festival memories and magic, Beyond Wonderland SoCal is once again taking Headliners into a whimsical, colorful world where Alice and her adventures come to life in a psychedelic playground. Won't you join us for a tea?

We are now accepting applications for character dancers, actors, stilters, mascots, puppeteers, wardrobe specialists, hair artists, airbrush artists, makeup artists, PA staff & more!

18+ applicants can submit their portfolio, demo videos, & resume to mseasy@insomniac.com to apply. Casting for this show will close as soon as all positions are filled.

SKYLINE CASTING INCOMING!

Insomniac is excited to announce that our Skyline casting is open!

Skyline will take place on February 25th & 26th at Expo Park in Los Angeles. For two fun-filled days, we’re transforming the city landscape in the heart of Los Angeles into an unparalleled festival experience featuring world class performers and a stacked lineup. We hope you’ll join us!

18+ applicants that will be in the Los Angeles area during the time of the event can submit their portfolio, demo videos & resume to mseasy@insomniac.com to apply. Casting for this show is extremely limited & will close as soon as all positions are filled.
