Louisiana’s Democratic governor signed a bill to ban abortions after a fetal heartbeat can be detected—as early as six weeks into a pregnancy. Of the recent abortion bans, this one stands out because of its support from the state’s Democratic governor and Democratic state senator who wrote the bill. Not great, Louisiana Democrats. The Trump administration is considering a new proposal that would essentially deny asylum to all Central American migrants. The plan would do this by prohibiting entry to people who lived in another country other than their own before coming to the U.S., which bars people who traveled through Mexico to reach the southern border.
The White House military office reportedly wanted the Navy to keep the USS John McCain war ship out of view during Trump’s recent visit to Japan. Though the ship was not ultimately moved, Navy officials did give the ship’s sailors the day off when Trump visited the base. When some of them tried to attend Trump’s remarks, they were turned away. This is an utterly ridiculous thing to ask on behalf of your thin-skinned boss, and an utterly shameful thing to do to U.S. service members. Hey remember when Obama saluted with a coffee and it was news for three years?

The U.S. Department of Energy has started calling carbon dioxide “molecules of U.S. freedom” and natural gas “freedom gas.” What, and I can’t stress this enough, the fuck?
What could possibly bring AOC and Ted Cruz together? The pair tweeted about teaming up on a bill to impose a lifetime ban on members of Congress becoming lobbyists. It’s certainly a strange collab, but sounds like a good one to us!
The World Health Organization officially recognized ‘burnout’ as a medical condition characterized by exhaustion, increased mental distance or cynical feelings about work, and weakened performance. *Laughs nervously*
