| The California Rodeo Salinas is kicking off their annual festivities on Saturday, July 11th with Miranda Lambert, one of country music’s biggest stars, headlining the 2026 Big Week Kick Off Concert.
One of the most celebrated artists in modern country music, Lambert brings her signature grit, storytelling, and chart-topping hits to the Central Coast for a high-energy night that launches the rodeo festivities in unforgettable style. As the most-awarded artist in Academy of Country Music history – including their top honor for Entertainer of the Year– Lambert has earned three GRAMMYs, 14 Country Music Association Awards, seven No. 1 solo albums and 10 No. 1 radio singles, cementing her status as one of the genre’s most influential voices.

The Carnival Opens TODAY at 3pm and runs through July 19th |

| The Carnival will be back in town for the 2026 California Rodeo Salinas and is presented by Chick-Fil-A North Salinas. It is open from 3 pm to 11 pm daily, starting Friday, July 10th, through Sunday, July 19th. Admission is $5.00*, and an unlimited ride wristbands are $40 at the gate. Parking is $5.00.
The Carnival is located at 295 Sun Way in Salinas- don't miss your chance for rides and more!

| 2026 THEME: America Salutes Red, White & Boots 2026 GRAND MARSHAL: Addison Joy McWherter Thousands of people line the streets of the Salinas City Center to watch over 1,200 children ride on floats, bikes, in wagons, and more as a kick off to Big Week and the California Rodeo Salinas. No pre-registration required. DIVISION & JUDGING INFOThe children in the parade are grouped into 8 divisions for judging. The divisions are Playground Floats, Cowboys and Cowgirls, Strollers & Wagons, Community Groups, Costumed Kids & Pets, Dance & Drill Teams, Group Floats and Rolling Riders (skates, rollerblades, scooters, skateboards, bikes and trikes-helmets required). Everyone is encouraged to wear western clothing. |

Big Week Bull Riding is back on July 15th |

| The 2026 Big Week Bull Riding will take place on Wednesday, July 15, 2026. This event is presented by Salinas Valley Ford and features non-stop bull riding action with some of the top bull riders testing their skills in an arena close to the main grandstand. This bull riding event will be part of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association's Xtreme Bulls Tour. Gates open at 5pm and the show starts at 7pm. The edge-of-your-seat action will be followed up with finale fireworks. If you love bull riding, you don't want to miss this event. |

Horse Parades - July 16-19 |
|
| The first horse parade made its way down Main Street Salinas in 1911. It was led by James R. Hebbron and consisted of a sixteen-piece band and about 100 horses ridden by local ranchers. In 1938 the parade showcased a record 1,000 horses! Today, the parade consists of mounted Sheriff’s Posse, competitors, various riding groups, color guards, drill teams, Junior & Senior riders, and Charro and Charra riding groups. The horse parade is a tradition that you want to experience. Entries are taken each year for participants from near and far. The parade will travel to the Rodeo Grounds on Thursday and Friday from East Alisal Street. The Saturday and Sunday traditional horse parades still travel from Salinas City Center (formerly Old Town Salinas) to the Rodeo Grounds.
