The final countdown has begun! In less than 30 days, the Wyoming State Fair will once again come to life with livestock, exhibits, competitions, carnival lights, and plenty of fair fun. Online entries are open, the RV park is filling quickly, and our team is hard at work preparing for another great year. We look forward to seeing all of you in just a few short weeks!

Livestock Load-In

We all know that getting over 2,500 livestock exhibits from over 600 exhibitors into the barns is a daunting task. To help make that process more efficient, we have set up new guidelines for animal load-in day.

Beginning at 8:00 AM on Monday, August 10, exhibitors should enter the fairgrounds through Gate 1 (Brownfield Road into the Pepsi Free Lot). From there, follow the back row of the campground, continue through the grandstand parking lot, and stop at the Dairy Barn to receive a time-stamped unloading pass. Your pass will indicate the time by which your vehicle must leave the unloading area.

Designated unloading areas will be available:

Livestock trailers: Around the Ford Pavilion, Touchstone Energy Show Center, and Goat Barn.
Semi-trailers: Between the Goat Barn and the Touchstone Energy Show Center.
Pull-through trailer parking: Along the south and west sides of Ford Pavilion.
Back-in trailer parking: Along Touchstone Energy Show Center.

Support vehicles may follow their trailer through the unloading process and should park in the designated grass area west of Touchstone Energy Show Center.

To ensure everyone has an opportunity to unload promptly, all trailers and support vehicles are limited to 30 minutes in the unloading area. Vehicles parked in the loading area prior to 8:00 AM or after their given 30-minute limit are subject to towing at the owner's expense.

If you need additional unloading time, simply exit the fairgrounds through the River Gate and follow the unloading route again to receive a new unloading pass.

We hope that this ensures that everyone is getting the chance to unload in a timely fashion and make the day flow better for the livestock and the humans responsible for them!

Animal Health & Drug Declaration Form Reminders

Helping maintain a healthy environment for all livestock at the Wyoming State Fair is a shared responsibility. All exhibitors are responsible for ensuring the required health and drug testing paperwork is completed and submitted by the appropriate deadlines.

Animal Health Forms: All exhibitors showing animals at the Wyoming State Fair must submit a completed WSF Health Form listing each animal's identification and signed by an accredited veterinarian. Health forms are valid for 14 days from the date of the veterinarian's signature. Youth exhibitors must submit their completed paperwork before unloading animals. Open exhibitors should provide their health forms to their species superintendent prior to unloading or stalling. Drug Declaration Forms: Every market animal exhibited at the Wyoming State Fair must have a completed Drug Declaration Form on file. Exhibitors are encouraged to complete the form throughout the project year as medications, treatments, and other animal health information are recorded, making fair week easier and helping ensure records are complete and accurate. Completed Drug Declaration Forms must be submitted to the Exhibitor Office no later than 5 PM on August 11, 2026.

As a reminder, the Wyoming State Fair will conduct drug testing of the top five overall placing market animals in the goat, sheep, swine, and cattle market shows. Additional random testing may be conducted at the discretion of the Wyoming State Fair.

In addition to our regular Static department classes, the Wyoming State Fair is offering several special contests this year. Whether you're an artist, baker, or both, there's a unique opportunity waiting for you!

She’s a Grand Old Flag: Celebrate America's 250th birthday by creating an original work inspired by the American flag. Entries are welcome in a variety of artistic mediums. Show your patriotism and creativity while competing for special awards in this one-of-a-kind contest.

Paws & Pearls Artwork Contest: Love creating art that makes a difference? The Wyoming State Fair has partnered with the Converse County Humane Society to select the featured artwork for the 2027 Paws & Pearls Gala, themed "Phantom of the Paw-pera."

Your artwork will be judged as part of the Wyoming State Fair while

also being considered as the featured design for gala posters and other promotional materials.

Cowboy State Cake Showdown: Think your cake decorating skills are top-notch? Or maybe your favorite recipe deserves a championship? Enter the inaugural Cowboy State Cake Showdown and compete in both decorating and taste. This live event, presented in partnership with 307 Hospitality and the Wyoming State Fair Foundation, will crown both a top cake decorator and a fan-favorite cake baker on Saturday of Fair Week.

Free Shavings for Youth Livestock Exhibitors

Thanks to the generous support of Tractor Supply, every youth livestock exhibitor will receive one free bag of shavings during the Wyoming State Fair.

To claim your complimentary bag, get the ticket from your superintendent and then visit the shavings trailer at the north end of the Open Sheep Barn. Trade your ticket for a bag and use those shavings to keep your animal comfortable while on grounds.

We are grateful to Tractor Supply for their continued support of the Wyoming State Fair and our outstanding youth livestock exhibitors. Be sure to thank them for helping make this program possible!

Meals Available at the Wyoming State Fair Cafeteria

After a long day in the barns, the last thing many exhibitors and families want to do is cook dinner in the camper. Fortunately, the Wyoming State Fair Cafeteria is open to everyone. Whether you're staying in the dorms, camping on the fairgrounds, or just spending the day at the fair, you're welcome to join us for a hot meal.

Meals begin with dinner on Monday and continue through breakfast on Sunday. Individual meal tickets are $10, or you can purchase a weekly meal pass for $140 if you'll be joining us throughout the week. Meal tickets are available at the Exhibitor Office, located near the Rotary Booth at the end of Midway.

Barn Opening Times

We know our livestock exhibitors are always eager to get into the barns and set up pens and tack before bringing in their animal exhibits on Monday. All major species barns (beef, sheep, swine, and goat) will open at 1 PM on Sunday for exhibitor setup.

For exhibitors who need to make multiple trips before the barns open, the lean-to on the west side of the Dairy Barn will be available for tack storage beginning Saturday, August 8, at 8 AM Please note that this is a leave-at-your-own-risk storage area.

Remember, pens and stalls are assigned by the superintendents. Items placed in pens or stalls before assignments are made do not reserve that space and will be removed.
